Upon graduating from Federal University of Technology in 2007, Lateef Adewale  Kareem​ worked as a research personnel in the Shell Professoral Chair of Petroleum Engineering in the same university with focus on developing solution to technical problems in the Nigerian Petroleum Industry. At shell chair, he extended the work of joshi on horizontal well cresting to allow determination of an optimum well placement and critical production rate for wells in pay zones with underlying aquifer and overlying gas cap.

February 2011, he joined King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals on the Scholarship grant of Deanship of Scientific Research to pursue a masters degree in petroleum production and reservior enginenering. He currently holds a position of a research assistant in the Center for Petroleum and Minerals in the university's research institute and has conducted reserches in Drilling fluids, Natural gas, Reservoir and Production Engineering.

Lateef is specially trained petroleum engineering and a high end user of common high level computer programming languages like MATLAB, Mathematica and C++. He has over 5years research experience in Drilling & Drilling Fluid Technology, Natural Gas, Reservoir and Production Engineering.
